  Heather Silvers grew up in Boscobel, Wisconsin.  After high school she moved to Eau Claire to study Elementary Education at UW-EC.  While in Eau Claire she started working at a day care center and found it very rewarding and decided to continue on this career path.  Eventually Heather moved to this area and began working at a childcare center in Holmen,  where she continued working for six years while also earning her Childcare Certification through independent studies. 


Heather joined the Preschool Childcare Center in October of 2013 and is the lead teacher in the infant I room.  Heather enjoys working with children of all ages and finds that working in childcare is one of the most wonderful and rewarding jobs that a person could have.

Lisa Goodwin


​Lisa Goodwin the Director of The Preschool Childcare Center, graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Art.  Lisa has previous teaching experience as a pre-school and after-school teacher with the La Crosse Day Care system and was also a substitute Elementary School teacher.

Lisa has lived in the La Crosse area her whole life and is happily married to her husband Dave.  Over their 28+ years of marriage, they have raised 5 children, (Zach, Max, twin girls Kali and Nikki, and Ben) of whom they are very proud of.

Along with the experience of being a mom to 5 great kids, Lisa feels that with her teaching background, she is ready for anything!  She looks forward to working along with the parents to create a fun and exciting learning experience for all children attending The Preschool Childcare Center.

Our teachers regularly participate in educational seminars and always bring new ideas and input to their daily tasks. These ideas are passed on to your child in playful exercises and diligent study sessions.

Sara Johnson graduated in 2011 from Southwest Technical College in Fenimore,  Wi. with a diploma in Child Care Services.  Upon graduation Sara worked in a Child Care Center in Boscobel, Wi.  Sara eventually moved to the La Crosse area and began working at the Preschool Childcare Center in July of 2013.

Sara entered the field of Child Care to ensure that families receive quality care and education for their children.  Being a mother herself, she wants every child's care to meet the high standards that she expects for her own children, she states, "I love being able to help children grow physically and developmentally and getting to experience children doing things for the first time."
